What is sex? At this stage of the game, you probably feel you know just about all there is to know about sex. (Almost everyone we’ve spoken to or interviewed for this book thought they did.) But our instinct that many are puzzled was confirmed. And if you are like most people, you also possess some spotty information and maybe even a few faulty beliefs, some of which may now be preventing you from fully enjoying your evolving sexuality. What exactly is sex? It seems like a simple enough question, but answering it may not be so simple. Many people tend to think of sex as the penetration of a vagina (or anus) by an erect penis, typically ending with one or both parties having an orgasm. While sex may involve intercourse, it can be so much more. For example, you can have oral sex, with or without orgasm, which some people say doesn’t count as “real” sex. (Remember that infamous presidential line,“That depends on what your definition of ‘it’ is”?) What about side-by-side masturbation, in which neither party even touches the other? And then there’s phone sex and Internet sex, in which the participants aren’t even in the same room. Does that count as “real” sex?

Where there’s fire, there’s Ash, Ashlyn Chase that is. The multi-published author describes herself as an Almond Joy bar - a little nutty, a little flaky, but basically sweet, wanting only to give her readers a scrumptious and satisfying reading experience. Well, you know what they say, “It takes one to know one.” Exclusively for our FiftyAndFurthermore readers, Ashlyn has interviewed four talented 50+ romance authors.

For six years I was the guardian of the gate for our local Catholic church here in Iowa. A parish secretary's job is not easy, but it can be very rewarding. Unfortunately, everything you do is scrutinized closely by the congregation. If you have a second job, perhaps you might think twice before allowing anyone to know what you do in your spare time. It can cause you headaches you don't need.

In a previous article, I let you in on a secret. Who writes erotica? Older women! Now to help back up my words as well as let you in on a whole bunch of interesting authors you may have missed by reading only the “bestsellers” I’ve embarked on a new venture. I’m interviewing some of these wonderful sexy, still-got-it grandmas!

Jude Mason is one of the lucky authors who can say writing erotic romance is as natural as breathing. Most of us went through the “can’t look you in the eye” stage. In fact, it’s evident that storytelling is natural for her too - since we never got past the first question! Since she did such a wonderful job of telling her own story, I’ll just shut up and let you enjoy it.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing another very entertaining grandmother with a secret life! Prolific erotic romance writer Alexis Fleming agreed to share her story of writing and sex with me.
