Originally from Buffalo, New York, Dr. Kelleher is a board certified Family Physician who has practiced in the Northern Virginia area since 1996. Dr. Kelleher received his medical education at the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his internship and residency at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where he served as a Chief Resident in Family Practice.
In 2004, he co-founded Executive Healthcare Services, a concierge-style Family Medicine practice also in Reston, Virginia, founded on personalized, pro-active and coordinated care and medical advocacy for our individual clients. Additionally, he continues to own and manage a traditional model medical office called Generations Family Practice started in 1998.
He is driven to improve the awareness of the unique role Family Physicians must play in any effective healthcare changes, being best suited to be the “medical home” and the foundation of cost effective medicine. He has interests in health information technologies, creative models for preventive medicine strategies, educating consumers better on health insurance utilization and consumer driven health care, and working towards a restructuring of the current reimbursement model.
As a Board-certified Family Physician, he cares for the entire range of patient health and wellness concerns “from the womb to the tomb.” He has special interests in migraine treatment and prevention, smoking cessation, sports medicine, adolescent medicine and skin cancer prevention and early detection.
He serves as an Assistant Clinical Instructor-George Washington University, in the Department of Medicine. He serves as Medical director for both PICS, a research company involved in NIH grants for smoking cessation and other primary care issues, and SRA International’s Nurse Advocacy Program. Dr. Kelleher was ranked as a Washingtonian Magazine's 2005 "Top Doctors."
His hobbies include the Sciences and American history. He enjoys all sports, especially golf, volleyball and football. He lives in Reston, Virginia, with his wife, Karen, their son, Brayden, and their two dogs.
