Terri A. Corcoran is a fifty-something caregiver for her seventy-something husband Vince, who for the past five years has been physically and cognitively disabled by Fragile-X Tremor Ataxia Syndrome, a genetic neurodegenerative illness. Before assuming her full-time caregiving role in 2003, Terri worked with Vince organizing an annual international conference of laser scientists and producing a monthly arts publication (The Review), covering performing and fine arts events in the Washington, D.C., metro area.

Currently, Terri serves as Board Secretary and Public Relations Chair for the Well Spouse Association (WSA), a national support group for spousal caregivers. She also writes articles and does editing for the WSA newsletter. A recent and ardent convert to Catholicism, Terri serves as secretary of her church’s Women’s Council and leads prayers at a local senior daycare center. She is sustained by her faith through the trials and grief of Vince’s illness.

Aside from writing, Terri enjoys reading, playing piano and singing show tunes, dancing and working out, and - most of all - spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her main goal is to keep Vince well cared for and comfortable AT HOME.
